This course is crafted and taught by Katie Brown. Katie is a yoga teacher with more than two decades teaching experience. She combines her knowledge of yogic philosophy, pranayama, meditation as well as a multitude of yoga styles, with her qualifications as a massage therapist, counsellor and doula (birth assistant) to create nurturing experiences for her students. She is one of the country’s most well-known and sought after Restorative Yoga teachers. She is also the author of five yoga and relaxation books.

  • Two pre-training webinars
    1. Intro and the stress and relaxation response
    2. Breathing practices for Restorative Yoga
  • A detailed guide to using props for maximum comfort and support.
  • Book: Restorative Yoga – a holistic guide your 50-page full colour book featuring more than 30 restorative yoga poses.

Two in-person nourishing restorative yoga classes

  • Explore more than 30 Restorative Yoga poses, how to adapt them to different body shapes and conditions, benefits and cautions.
  • The history and definition of Restorative Yoga
  • An understanding of the possible negative effects of stress on the mind and body, the Relaxation Response and the positive effects of relaxation
  • The Restorative and Yin Yoga continuum: similarities and differences
  • How to use props within a class setting
  • The principles and practicalities of teaching and practising Restorative Yoga
  • Limbering and linking movements
  • Breathing practices and self-massage to enhance the Restorative Yoga experience
  • Teaching practice 

* There is a written exam which is a pre-requisite for obtaining CPD points, this includes one post course online mentor session.
