This Magic Life

It’s New Year’s Day and a wonderful time to reassess how you are processing life. As author Richard Carlson wrote (and my mum used to say) Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff! I was inspired to write this after attending my friend and fellow yogi Susan Cobham’s funeral service on New Year’s Eve. It was a stark reminder that we have just one wild and precious life and we owe it to ourselves and to everyone around us to embrace it with kindness, love and compassion. I hope you enjoy this poem that I penned this morning in the early hours of a new year… Love Katie X

Tip toe into each and every day,

With your compassionate heart wide open

Breathe in the sweetness of the air,

And appreciate each and every sound

As you relish the magic of life

Stride into your morning

With your unjudgmental eyes wide open

Embrace the burgeoning energy of your day

View it with abundance, opportunity and clarity

As you embrace the magic of life

Move gently through your day,

With your accepting mind wide open

Observe and witness the people in your life

See beyond the surface as you sense their love, their pain, their journey

Respect each person you meet, appreciating the tapestry of how your lives touch and connect,

As you absorb the magic of life

At times run, walk, linger and stop through your day

Breathe, notice, enjoy and savour

This one magic life is a privilege

That we choose how to navigate

Each day remind yourself to take careful, yet carefree steps

As you move through the magic of life…
